Ownership Partner and Equine Lawyer

Steve plays two roles in the case he discusses as both an equine lawyer and as a participant. This particular case involved a standard breed racing stallion. Steve was part owner of this stallion. Steve purchased the stallion as a yearling in 2011 with three other partners. With the partnership, the standard breed sales happened in Lexington, Kentucky for a total forty thousand dollars.

Big Money

One of the participants of the of the partnership of four was a professional standard bar trainer and he trained the horse and over the years. This is where the case gets interesting. The reason Steve explains it’s his most exciting is because the horse won 2.6 million dollars! This turned the groups investment of forty thousand into a large amount of money. This is why it was Steve’s most interesting case as an equine lawyer.

Retired Horse

The horse has been retired he is standing as a stud in Ohio. Steve hopes that the stallion is making little babies that will win a million dollars as well. The chances for that happening are small but Steve remembers the stallion as being a very special horse.
